Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is an international product testing system for textiles. It has four product classes, which differ in the amount of residual chemicals they permit.

- heavy metals (can cause eczema and damage internal organs and the central nervous system)
- esticides (can affect the nervous system, internal organs and fertility)
- aromatic hydrocarbons (perfume allergies and disorders of the nervous system)

The NOMITE label is the consumer’s guarantee that the down product cannot contain house dust mites. The fabric is woven so tightly that neither house dust mites themselves nor their food, flakes of human skin, can penetrate it.
Contrary to all the myths, down and feathers very seldom cause allergic reactions. The culprit is usually the house dust mite. People who are allergic to house dust mites can therefore safely buy our NOMITE certified down products.
Down products are washable at 140°F / 60°C, at which temperature house dust mites are killed.
The rest is up to you: washing bed linen, cleaning and thorough airing will turn the lives of your unwanted guests to misery.

GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard (for duvet covers only)
When you see this certificate in combination with our DUVET COVERS, it means that the product carries the prestigious GOTS-label.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including ecological and social criteria, backed by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. The aim of the standard is to define globally recognized requirements that ensure the organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labeling in order to provide credible assurance to the end consumer. Textile processors and manufacturers should be able to export their organic fabrics and garments with one certification accepted in all major markets.
The consensus of the International Working Group was that a clear and unambiguous understanding of the content required the Global Organic Textile Standard itself to focus on compulsory criteria only. The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibers. The final products may include but are not limited to: fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothes and home textiles.

In this way, Ringsted Dun checks whether all down and feathers do, indeed, originate from geese and duck, while also accurately determining their quality. This random testing means that they are able to grade the stuffing and thus create different qualities, which enables the manufacturer to vary its duvets and pillows in accordance to their degree of insulation and fill power.
